Dear Friends,
It has been my sincere honor to
serve as Mayor of Farmington Hills. Since my first
election to City Council in 1995, my goal has been to
build on the foundation of the great civic leaders who
came before me and to continue to keep Farmington Hills
the greatest city in the state.
Whether it was to establish our
economic master plan, prevent oil drilling under our
neighborhoods, protect our public right-of-ways, secure
our proper share of state-shared revenues or preserve
our city's individuality through local control, I have
been committed to help Farmington Hills maintain its
unique character and economic vitality well into this
new century. But this fight is not easy and it requires
constant vigilance.
So, while my time as Mayor is soon
ending, I feel my work on behalf of the Farmington
Community is not yet done. After much thought, I have
decided to seek election to the State Legislature in
order to champion those very ideas that I have been
advocating from City Hall.
As most of you are aware, my friend
and mentor, Representative Aldo Vagnozzi, is
term-limited and will be unable to seek reelection. It
is my hope that you will join him in supporting me for
election to the State House in 2008.
I am grateful for your help over
this twelve-year journey. Your support and friendship
have been a true source of strength. I hope I can count
on you again and I look forward to facing this new
challenge ahead with you by my side.
Fondly,

Vicki Barnett
